Latin pop artist Sebastian Javier has released his first original holiday song Christmas Time out on Elektra Records now. Due to being away from family during COVID, Sebastian found peace in his music when writing the latest Christmas tune.
About the release, Sebastian expressed the songs meaning surrounding the concept of COVID “…and how hard it’s been to get together with family. Presents are irrelevant this year, and the true gift is to be with the ones we love. ‘Christmas Time’ touches on the ‘finish line’ subject as a means of finally getting to a place where we can be with family as COVID slowly begins to go away. We made it.”
Lyrics in a smooth delivery “Don’t need 100 presents sitting underneath the three, this Christmas means more to me” ditches the material things that usually overshadows the holiday season, and brings us back down to all that we truly need: the people that we care about the most.
Coming fresh off the his English-Spanish EP, Day at a Time, this latest track gets us excited for what Sebastian has in store for us next. He’s an act you definitely do not want to miss. His sound seems to be inspired by Shawn Mendes in his earlier eras—but that does not take away from the originality that Sebastian brings to the table. His ability to bring his Latin heritage into his music is something truly admirable, and worth listening to.
