Pale Waves, Live in Concert

Pale Waves is one of the greatest live bands I have ever witnessed. I have been lucky enough to catch Pale Waves many times during their career, from opening for The 1975 to headlining their own shows, it was a delight to be able to see them live again after a couple of years. This time around, I caught them opening up for 5 Seconds of Summer at FivePoint Amphitheatre on June 18, 2022.

While their masterful recordings convey angsty alternative pop that is reminiscent of all of our favorite bands from the past decade, think The 1975 meets Paramore, there’s something even more powerful about their live performance. Front woman Heather Baron Gracie led this quartet into an energetic night preparing the crowd for 5 Seconds of Summer. Playing the perfect mix of their classics, such as “Eighteen” and “Television Romance,” and their newer tracks, Pale Waves definitely opened up this show with a bang. I, unashamedly, found myself jumping and screaming along to every lyric and having the absolute time of my life. If you ever get the chance, please see Pale Waves live.
