The multi-platinum artist who has surpassed 12.5 billion streams in the U.S. and more than 31 billion combined global streams to date, Halsey, has shared a stripped version to their recent single “So Good” on July 1.
The single was first heard from a Tik-Tok video the artist uploaded on May 22. They wrote their label wouldn’t release the track, unless it went viral on the social media platform. The artist said the song had to, “fake a viral moment on Tik-Tok” in order for their record company to release it.
“Everything is marketing, and they are doing this to basically every artist these days. I just want to release music man and I deserve to, to be honest. I’m tired,” Halsey wrote.
The Tik-Tok has totaled more than 1.2 million views. “So Good” was released on June 9 and it followed the release of the single’s music video featuring their partner and creative Alev Aydin, highlighting the couple’s love-story on June 10.
“So Good” has been marked as the number one most added song at Top 40 radio, and it was also featured in a Coca-Cola summer campaign video inspired by A-ha’s iconic “Take On Me” music video.
The video is available to view exclusively on Coke Studio. Check it out below.
