Celebrating the Inevitable: Black Confetti by DREAMERS

On April 22nd, alt-pop band DREAMERS released their latest track Black Confetti. This track is their first release of the year, and it is the first of a string of several new songs that the group will release throughout the year.

The song is about celebrating your own death, sort of blurring the lines between celebration and tragedy. Instead of dwelling on things that are out of your control, focus on the current moment. “Live like you’re dead already”, urges frontman Nick Wold at the end of the chorus. While reflecting on the inevitability of death, the lyrics put a positive spin on it. The subject matter paired with the instrumental style create an upbeat track that’s bittersweet, but hopeful.

As alt-pop is dominating the charts right now with artists such as Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker releasing hit after hit, this track slots right in with what’s popular right now. Released just in time for summer, Black Confetti is a fun track with unique lyrics that is sure to make its way onto your summer playlists.
