On August 22nd, 2026, 311 and Dirty Heads’ co-headline tour, So Glad You Made It, landed in Austin, TX at Germania Insurance Amphitheater. The afternoon Texas sun beat down on the eager crowd as they anticipated a summer night full of the bands’ greatest hits and an unforgettable night of entertainment.
The show opened with Rome, who most of the audience knew as the frontman of Sublime with Rome, in addition to his duo project with Dirty Heads singer Duddy. Rome set the tone for the evening, getting the crowd hyped for the acts to follow. Rome was followed by Minnesotan hip hop duo Atmosphere, who hypnotized the crowd with their set, including a lot of crowd participation that the audience was fully bought into.
The co-headline began with 311, storming the stage with their hits “Beautiful Disaster” and “All Mixed Up.” With almost 40 years under their belts, 311 proved to the crowd that they are here to stay and are just as strong as they’ve always been. Frontman Nick Hexum always puts on a captivating show, with his dulcet vocal tones charming every person in the audience. Vocalist, rapper, and DJ extraordinaire SA Martinez put his entire soul into the performance, interacting with their biggest fans who were rocking out on the barricade. Tim Mahoney filled the summer air with his genius guitar riffs, complemented by P-Nut on the bass with his signature stylization. For anyone who has seen 311 before, the middle of their set is no surprise. But to anyone who came out to see Dirty Heads, or just wanted some nostalgic live music on a Saturday night, the highlight of 311’s set comes in the shape of fan favorite song, “Applied Science.” The middle of the song takes a turn as Chad Sexton captivates the audience with an extensive drum solo, followed by a drum line consisting of all 5 band members showing off their talents and making the set unforgettable. The band closed their set with the songs everyone came to hear, notably “Amber” and “Down.” By the time 311 was exiting the stage, they had made this concert their own, and it was almost a shock to remember there was an entire headlining set still to come.
Dirty Heads closed the night out with a groovy set that truly made the evening feel like a giant summer pool party, regrettably without the pool. Moving through their greatest hits mixed with songs from their newest album, 7 Seas. The booming bass was felt throughout the amphitheater as the sun had finally set and the night was alive with Dirty Heads’ performance. Vocalist and rapper Jared Watson has an addicting stage presence, and Dustin Bushnell, known amongst fans as Duddy, always delivers strong vocals and guitar melodies, creating the signature Dirty Heads sound. Fan favorite songs such as “Burn Slow” and “Oxygen” had the crowd dancing through their entire set. The So Glad You Made It tour was the perfect summer evening celebration of live music.
